Holiday Tree Lighting Programs
Holiday Tree Lighting Storytime
Bowmanville Library | Friday, December 6 | 5:30-7:30pm | All ages
Join us before the tree lighting for a jolly holiday storytime (5:30-6pm), then come back afterwards for seasonal crafts and warm up with hot chocolate! (6:30-7:30pm)
Edwardian Christmas Open House
Sarah Jane Williams HC | Friday, December 6 | 6:30-8:30pm | All ages
This festive event follows downtown Bowmanville's tree lighting ceremony. Guests are invited to gather for light refreshments and to create a holiday craft. Guided tours of the historic Waverley Place house will be available every twenty minutes.
Donations to local food banks are gratefully accepted.

Join us for a special holiday tour that brings Edwardian Christmas to life at Waverley Place historic house! Enjoy the festive decorations, play a parlour game, and learn about foods and traditions of the past. Tours begin at the Sarah Jane Williams Heritage Centre.

Kwanzaa Storytime

Celebrate and explore the origin, history, and significance of Kwanzaa and how we can apply the Ngozo Saba, or The Seven Principles, in our everyday lives. Families can enjoy storytelling with Kesha Christie of Talkin' Tales, crafts, prizes, and snacks.

Indigenous Family Storytime: Dibaajimowin Maadaajim
Bowmanville Library | Tuesday, December 10 | 10:30-11:15am | All ages
Dibaajimowin Maadaajim is an Ojibwe phrase that describes the telling of a story. This storytime will connect children and their families with our land, waters, plants, and animals using a mix of Indigenous teachings, stories, as well as songs and drumming.
Presented in partnership with Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services.
Chanukah Storytime Celebration

Celebrate Chanukah and learn about Jewish culture with stories, songs, crafts and traditional snacks.
