Cognitive Care Kits
Cognitive Care Kits offer a unique service to under-served members of our community. This project is designed to support caregivers and people living with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
In partnership with The Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region, Cognitive Care Kits help support the skills, abilities, and interests of people living with forms of cognitive impairment, as well as to support caregivers.
Our collection of 8 engaging dementia friendly kits contains activities, workbooks, games, and puzzles that help develop and maintain cognitive skills, focus on social engagement, and for success with daily activities.
Kits focusing on the following are available for various levels (early-middle stage, and middle-late stage):
- Conversation, Fun and Games
- Memory and Conversation
- Motor Skills and Dexterity
- Sensory Stimulation
Each kit includes an assortment of activities (5-7), instructions for caregivers, instructions on how to use each activity, and resources from the Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region.
